    Vanguard No. 8 does not.

    This is bamboo canvas done properly. Structured. Substantial. It holds its shape instead of collapsing like a tote that gave up halfway through the commute.

    The exterior has a grounded, textured finish that reads durable without drifting into hiking-trail territory. Dark leather straps reinforce the body. Brass hardware, rivets, and buckles don’t pretend to be functional. They are.

    Inside, a dark chocolate distressed leather compartment keeps things in order. Tablet. Notebook. Phone. Wallet. Charger. Everything has a place. Nothing rattles around like loose change in a junk drawer.
